MORE ABOUT ME...

I joined this wiki because: I created it!

The best word to describe me is: Overworked. :)

Interests: GENEALOGY! Reading, stamp collecting, watching movies, travel, trying to find time to sleep.

Favorite movies: A League of Their Own, Gone With the Wind, Hitch (it has a genealogy scene!), Major League (filmed in Milwaukee when I worked there, and has a sexy librarian in it who does NOT wear a bun in her hair or glasses!), The African Queen, Philadelphia Story, The Desk Set, Bringing Up Baby (OK, just about anything with Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant, or Jimmy Stewart in it), Key Largo, Some Like it Hot, Pleasantville, The Mummy (another sexy librarian, and Brendan Fraser's not too bad, either), North by Northwest, I could go on all day...

Favorite TV shows: Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, House

My hero(es): My parents, my grandmother Violet, and anyone who manages to successfully balance their work and home lives.

My superpower is: Multi-tasking (running a department that supports 13 libraries located throughout the state, running a statewide genealogical society, raising two teenagers--too bad I haven't figured out a way to keep my house clean, too!)

If I could live anywhere, it would be: Wisconsin or Colorado

Places I've visited (in no particular order): Dublin, Galway, Kilkenny, Athlone, Clonmacnoise, and the Cliffs of Mohrer, Ireland, London, Eng., Canada, Boston, Salem, Mass., Cooperstown, N.Y., Kingston, N.Y., Niagara Falls, Ludington, Mich., Mackinac Island, Agawa Canyon, Canada, via train, Chicago, St. Louis, Atlanta, Orlando, Washington, D.C., Arlington, Va., Fort Wayne, Ind., Wall Drug in S.D., the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Devil's Tower, Wyo., Yellowstone National Park, Colorado Springs, Denver, Great Sand Dunes National Park, San Francisco, Little Bighorn, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Lincoln, Neb., Topeka, Kans., Billings, Mont., Salt Lake City, Ut., Promontory Point, Ut., 25 states (CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY,
MA, MI, MN, MO, MT, NE, NY, ND, RI, SD, UT, VA, WI, WY), and just about everywhere in Wisconsin.

My dream job(s): Making enough money to survive as a professional genealogist.

What else you should know about me:
I'm basically an introvert and it takes a lot for me to speak in front of an audience, so be kind if I act goofy or talk quietly. ;-)
