Blue Hills Genealogical Society-Barron County, Inc. will hold its second FREE Beginners Genealogy Class. This is a two night event, held on the first Thursday of two consecutive months (May & June). It is FREE to members and non-members of BHGS. Class begins promptly at 4:30 pm at the Society Research Room, Room #130, Barron County Office Complex, 410 East LaSalle St., Barron, WI. Entrance to the building for this class is by the back door in the parking lot area by buzzing doorbell on the door frame. June 11Blue Hills Genealogical Society-Barron County, Inc. will hold its regular monthly meeting. The Society will not be meeting at its regular location for this meeting. As a group, the Society volunteers will be again working out in a cemetery to photograph and abstract the information from tombstones as a preservation project for the county. The cemetery for this night and will be St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, on county Road SS/Main Street, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Come in outdoors clothing. We need people with digital cameras to help with this project. This could be the last night in this cemetery and it will then be ready for the final creation. Watch the society webpages for details. Alternative program (because of weather will be announced.

This nights progam will be presented by Greg Kochen, the Archivist of the UWEC Area Research Center of the Wisconsin Historical Society. His presentation is titled "Getting the Most from the WHS & the ARC's: Using ArCat. We encourage people to bring their laptops and get hands on experience in using this extensive resource.
