The Wisconsin State Genealogical Society regularly conducts two events each year, a two-day Gene-A-Rama in the spring and a one day seminar (often with a workshop the afternoon before) in the fall. Events are open to the public for a nominal registration fee. Each features a nationally-known expert, speaking on a facet of genealogical research of particular interest to Wisconsin researchers. Membership meetings are held during the conference or seminar. No registration fee is required to attend a membership meeting.
In the past, events have been held in such widely separated areas as Eau Claire, Fond du Lac, Oconomowoc, and Wausau.
